BCEC introduces free Wi-Fi for visitors

[Wed 19/10/2011 11:46:26]

In keeping with tradition of being at the forefront of innovation and technology, the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre which is operated by  international venue management Group, AEG Ogden, is one of the very first convention centres in Australia to introduce free Wi-Fi.

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre has introduced free Wi-Fi for visitors to the Centre

Free Wi-Fi is now available to all - visitors, clients, delegates, those attending exhibitions or other events at the Centre and members of the general public are now able to access free wireless internet at the Centre.

The free service limited to 256k bandwith called BCEC-LINK, allows visitors to connect to the internet to check emails, send emails, chat on Facebook, Twitter and Skype wherever they are within the Centre.

Convention Centre general manager Bob O’Keeffe said all visitors are now able to stay connected via BCEC-LINK.

“We recognise the phenomenal growth in internet communications fuelled by mobile networking and wanted to ensure the right experience for our clients and visitors when they are in the Centre.

“Our service offering to our clients and guests is all about providing more choice, greater convenience and easier access in a time pressured environment” said O'Keeffe.

Conference organisers and meeting and event planners have the option of going one step further and choosing a custom designed flexible Conference Package with faster bandwidth which can be configured for the duration of their event.

Free Wi-Fi will also be offered in the Centre’s new expansion, BCEC on Grey Street when it hosts its first events in early 2012.
