W Hotels' global music director Michaelangelo L'Acqua says some properties "just don't get it" when it comes to music in hotels.

Speaking exclusively on camera at the W Retreat and Spa Bali-Seminyak, L'Acqua said getting the music right was a key to winning over the next generation of travellers.

He also said the new W Hotels CD would take a slightly different direction than before.
