AEG Ogden scores Perth Arena
[Tue 27/09/2011 12:48:48]
AEG Ogden has been confirmed as the operator of the new Perth Arena following the signing of the management agreement in Perth.
Following the signing of the management agreement, AEG Ogden will commence planning entertainment, staffing and management of the Perth Arena
Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron said AEG Ogden were global leaders in sport and entertainment and the agreement would ensure high quality operational and facilities management of Perth Arena.
“It is an important milestone to sign this contract so AEG Ogden can get on with planning entertainment, staffing and management of Perth Arena,” Waldron said.
“The company is a world-class venue operator with the skills and networks to attract top national and international events to Perth’s new world-class venue.”
The Perth Arena will become part of a global family of facilities, which includes venues such as the Staples Centre at LA Live and London’s 02 Arena.
The company already has a strong presence in Western Australia through the management of the Perth Theatre Trust Venues, which includes His Majesty’s Theatre, Perth Concert Hall and the new State Theatre Centre.
AEG Ogden executive chairman Harvey Lister said he was excited that they had been appointed to run Australia’s newest arena.
“We look forward to hitting the ground running by securing a naming rights sponsor and selling the corporate suites while negotiating with promoters from around the world to make sure the Perth Arena opens with a bang,” Lister said.
When completed, Perth Arena will have a capacity of 15,500 people and able to be configured for a range of modes, creating flexibility for a variety of events and functions.
