BESydney and SCEC play hosts to conference success stories

[Wed 24/08/2011 09:55:24]

The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre last week played hosts of the future success stories of the Australian conference scene, offering them insight from industry leaders and past conference organisers at the Platform11 seminar.

Key speakers at the the conference gather together during the annual Platform 11seminar hosted by the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and BESydney

The annual held in conjunction with Business Events Sydney (BESydney), Platform allows associations and future event planners to hear from others who have already held successful events in Sydney. Attendees include representatives of national associations and other local organisations looking to stage international conferences in Sydney, now ranked the world’s 10th most popular convention city.

Speakers at this year’s event included Westmead Hospital’s Dr David Schell, the organising committee chair for the 6th World Congress on Pediatric Critical Care held in March. He was joined by Emeritus Professor John Trinder from the University of NSW (right), the organising committee chair for the 34th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment held in April.

Also, in attendence were the event hosts, Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre chief executive Ton van Amerongen and BESydney acting Chief Executive Officer Lyn Lewis-Smith.
