Hawaiian Airlines goes daily to Honolulu year-round

[Tue 02/08/2011 03:03:29]

BY JAMES WILKINSON

Hawaiian Airlines is set to increase flights on the Sydney-Honolulu route to seven per week as strong demand continues to fuel tourism to Hawaii.

Hawaiian Airlines is increasing flights on the
Sydney-Honolulu service

Hawaiian’s senior vice president of marketing and sales, Glenn Taniguchi, said the daily flights would commence on December 14. The airline had previously operated daily flights this winter – up from four per week – but is only operating five per week until December 13 due to aircraft availability.

“Australians are increasingly finding great value in Hawaii vacations, and demand for our services has never been greater,” he said. “The arrival of another aircraft later this year will allow us to meet the increased demand starting in December.”

Hawaiian operates 264-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on the Sydney-Honolulu route, including 18 in Business Class.  Flights depart Sydney Airport daily at 9:20pm and arrive at Honolulu International Airport at 10:10am, while the return flight departs Honolulu at 11:50am and arrives in Sydney at 7:20pm the following day.

By December, Hawaiian Airlines will also boost inter-island flights, with extra Boeing 717 aircraft enabling the airline to add an extra 20 departures per day over current frequencies.
