Young Event Manager of the Year named

[Thu 23/06/2011 10:08:55]

The Australian Centre for Event Management (ACEM) and SPICE Magazine would like to congratulate Kate Otto, who has been awarded the 2011 ACEM Spice Young Event Manager of the Year, winning herself a position in the prestigious ACEM course, The Executive Certificate in Event Management.

Kate is delighted to have been awarded a spot in such a renowned course that will give her invaluable experience and a head start in her events career.

“I’m from South Africa and I’ve been in Australia just over two years. Since I arrived I’ve been looking at the ACEM courses and have been very interested in applying but with budget constraints working for a not-for-profit organisation I’ve never been able to enrol. I’m really excited to have the chance to attend the course, develop my skills in event management and learn from some of Australia’s most talented event professionals,” she said.

In her role as the events & insight trip coordinater for the micro-financing not-for-profit organisation Opportunity Australia, Kate is responsible for organising all fundraising events, information sessions for donors, the people who receive the donations as well as coordinating all trips to India, Indonesia and the Philippines.

The Executive Certificate is presented using a mix of lectures, class exercises and practical case studies from Australia’s most experienced event industry experts and provides an invaluable career.

ACEM course dates:
• Melbourne: 11 – 14 July and 14 – 17 November
• Sydney: 20 – 22 July and 26 – 28 September
• Brisbane: 25 – 28 July
• Perth: 20 – 23 September
