Entries now open for Australian Event Awards

[Sun 05/06/2011 07:39:50]

Entries are now open for the Australian Event Awards, the only program whose winners shine as the best across the entire events industry.

The Australian Event Awards, proudly supported by SPICE magazine and SpiceNews.com.au, aim to develop the industry through promoting innovation and excellence, and to unite it through the joint celebration of great events and achievements in areas from special events, private events, through to corporate events and meetings, to sporting events. Whether you’re an organiser, a venue, a sponsorship partner, designer, performer or technician, there is a category to recognise your contribution to the events industry this past year.

The 2010 Australian Event Awards, held at the Sydney Aquatic Centre, Sydney Olympic Park

There are 23 categories to enter that could see SPICE readers taking home a trophy, including Best Corporate Event, Best Arts Cultural or Music Event, Best Tourism Event, Best Product or Service, Best Achievement in Marketing Communications or Sponsorship, and many more. The final and most prestigious award is the Australian Event of the Year – the winners of each Best Event category become finalists for this coveted achievement.

The Australian Event Awards are judged by a panel of highly skilled industry experts co-chaired by Johnny Allen, foundation director of the Australian Centre for Event Management, and Sandy Hollway, formerly CEO of the Sydney Organising Committee for the 2000 Olympic Games. Only the Australian Event Awards provides the opportunity to receive feedback from industry leaders of such high calibre and variety across event sectors.

The Australian Event Awards will culminate in the 2011 Events Industry Night of Nights to be held at Sydney Olympic Park on Thursday 6 October 2011. This will be an opportunity for event managers and suppliers from all over Australia to network with the “who’s who” of the industry including sponsors, government and industry leaders.

Ready to enter? Click here to begin your online entry. Complete your entry by July 11 and receive a discounted Early Bird entry rate and save even more if you are a member of one of our partner associations.

The 2011 Australian Event Awards is the national awards program to reward innovation, recognise excellence and unite the entire Australian Events Industry. Entries are open to any event staged between 1 July 2010 and 30 June 2011.

The entry process is based online, so you can save and edit your entry on the web, or download the questions to work offline. This year the questions have even been reworked so that takes you less time to complete an entry.

Winning an Australian Event Award places you at the top of the entire events industry amongst the best events, organisers, suppliers and venues in the nation and promotes your achievements across all sectors – special events, exhibitions, tourism events, conferences and more.  Needless to say the competition is strong! But choose the category that best suits your event, and begin your entry early, for the best chance at winning in this prestigious awards program.
