Speciality caterers team up for Cure for Life Foundation Dinner

Large event specialists Bayleaf Catering, MONDO Bartenders and Star Grazers Catering came together with all three catering platforms to provide and execute food, beverage & floor management for the 2011 Cure for Life Foundation Dinner at Horden Pavilion on Saturday 7th May 2011.

Cure For Life Foundation (CFLF) is devoted to saving lives of people suffering from brain tumours, through advances in research and education in neurosurgery.
The Cure For Life Foundation™ was established by the world-renowned neurosurgeon Dr Charlie Teo to help fund advancements in the treatment of brain cancer, hopefully one day leading to a cure. Charlie continues to develop new and innovative surgical techniques.
The menu was tailored to Autumn, and guests sampled some of Sydney’s best local produce; aged beef fillet, roasted artichokes, Dutch cream potatoes, sweet carrots and macadamia nuts along with twice cooked chicken with autumn vegetables, crisp zucchini flower, shitake and cilantro broth.
This year’s ball had a vintage theme with a touch of sparkle which set a breath-taking scene. A fantastic theme which was reflected by the glamorous attire worn by the 900 guests. The space was set with impressive overhead chandeliers, diamond candelabras on each table with charismatic host by Glenn Wheeler and live performances by Leo Sayer and The Potbelleez.
The three course menu was designed by Bayleaf Catering Executive Chef, Justin Bull, the volunteers, talent and crew were catered and cared for by Star Grazers Catering. MONDO Bartenders mixed up a cocktail menu for a special touch. The night saw a line up of three of Sydney’s hottest food and beverage caterers for the corporate and backstage markets.
MONDO Bartenders served up a unique Early Grey Martini for the event
MONDO Bartenders created the Earl Grey Martini; earl grey tea infusion shaken with gin, fresh lemon and sugar, shaken with ice and served in a sugar rimmed martini glass. Also on offer was the sweet Pineapple Vintage; a delicious mix of rum, cloudy apple juice, pineapple, passionfruit pulp and muddled limes served on ice with a mint garnish.
Guests were wowed throught the eveing with a huge entertainment set up.
Star Grazers is a national leader in backstage catering, touring the country’s largest artists and festivals.
Most recently Stargrazers have cared for Katy Perry, Grace Jones, ZZ Top, Sting, Santana, Neil Diamond, Eddie Vedder (from Pearl Jam) and Led Zeppelin…..with national tours including U2, Michael Buble, Soundwave & Good Vibrations.
Floor crew provided by Stedmans, extra chefs & kitchen staff from Alseasons and operational crew from Bayleaf tended to the every need of guests, talent, volunteers and organisers alike under the guidance of Bayleaf owner, Christopher Stubbs.
