South African Tourism launches 'Joyful' initiative

[Thu 17/02/2011 03:21:11]

Professional conference organisers (PCO), and meetings and incentive planners are welcoming two new faces into the industry -South African Tourism country manager Australasia, Lalie Ngozi and Judy Joy, the tourism body’s latest business Tourism industry initiative.

Judy Joy, who will become the eyes and ears of the Business Tourism industry both here and in South Africa, was introduced at an exclusive cocktail party following Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) this week.

With the aim of providing an opportunity for PCOs and meetings planners to discover more about the industry and South Africa as a business tourism destination, Judy Joy will be a conduit of industry knowledge, evolving to become a valuable resource and a new way for industry members to share inside knowledge and tips through a unique blog, Judy Joy's Journal.

The blog will provide Business Tourism professionals and corporate end users with simple, yet unique and effective tips and information they can use to persuade clients and colleagues to choose South Africa as their next incentive, conference and events destination.

As well as keeping up to speed with all new and exciting business tourism products in South Africa, Judy will offer general tips, suggestions, speak to industry members and answer questions as she shares the same time pressures and logistical hassles that PCOs face every day. PCOs will have the opportunity to learn with Judy as they share her various journeys around South Africa via her journal.

“It was a pleasure to meet with the Business Tourism industry last night and we are delighted to introduce the Judy Joy initiative to Business Tourism professionals,” said Lalie Ngozi, country manager, South African Tourism, Australasia.

“We hope Judy will become a wealth of knowledge on South Africa and the new ‘go-to’ for professional conference and meetings organisers.”
“Judy will connect personally and interact online, providing one-on-one advice for industry professionals via her journal. We’re confident that Judy, as an inside contact, will make it easier for PCOs to recommend South Africa to their clients and give them a better understanding of the country as an experienced and innovative Business Tourism destination,” concluded Ngozi.
