Love Never Dies launches at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

[Tue 08/02/2011 11:29:23]

Sofitel Melbourne On Collins hosted the media launch for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest musical Love Never Dies last week, recounting the continuing story of The Phantom of the Opera, which will open in Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in May.

Sofitel Melbourne On Collins is the official luxury hotel for the musical.

The dream roles of The Phantom and Christine in the Australian production of Love Never Dies have been won by two little known performers, Ben Lewis and Anna O’Byrne, and these were announced at the launch yesterday, which also included a live video cross to Andrew Lloyd Webber and a performance by both Ben and Anna.

The launch saw leading performers Anna O'Byrne and Ben Lewis (above) cross live via video to Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The Phantom of the Opera is the most successful single piece of entertainment of all time. Over two tours of Australia and NZ in 1990 – 1998 and 2007 2009, it has been enjoyed by more than 5 million people. Those who saw ‘Phantom’ and loved the show will be excited to see how the story continues in Love Never Dies.
