South African Tourism welcomes new country manager

[Wed 05/01/2011 08:54:56]

South African Tourism
has announced the immediate appointment of Nobulali ‘Lalie’ Ngozi as new country manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Ngozi will travel to Australia this month to begin her work within the market.

Newly-appointed as country manager for South African Tourism, Nobulali Ngozi

“South African Tourism has had incredible support from our media, trade and wholesale partners at what has been a very memorable year for our country,” said Tommy Lindblad at the event, South African Tourism’s marketing and communications manager and acting country manager.

“We are also delighted to welcome Ms Nobulali ‘Lalie’ Ngozi to lead our South African Tourism team. We are thrilled to have Lalie on board, and with her expertise in media as well as her knowledge and insight in the tourism industry, we’re confident it will prove indispensable as she takes up her new role of enhancing South Africa’s communication and marketing strategy here in Australia and New Zealand.

“The World Cup attracted a large number of first time visitors to South Africa and we saw more than 12,000 arrivals (12,210) from Australia. Australia can now officially boast about being the country with the fifth highest ticket sales in the world, with over 32,000 tickets sold (32,251), for the world-class event; just behind South Africa, United States, United Kingdom and Germany.

“The World Cup’s legacy and the significant benefits that remain for local communities will greatly benefit the tourism industry and generations of South Africans to come. We are looking forward to the year ahead and implementing our marketing and communications plans to generate excitement among Australians and New Zealanders to travel to South Africa in 2011 and beyond,” concluded Lindblad.
