New Chairperson to lead Business Events Tasmania

[Tue 07/12/2010 11:08:38]

Business Events Tasmania, the states peak marketing body for the business events industry, has appointed a new chairperson – Pamela Graham, general manager of Launceston Airport.

Graham fills the position in place of Tony Hart, Managing Director of Clemenger Tasmania, who has recently retired from the role after 10 years of service to the industry.

Recently appointed chariperson of Business Events Tasmania, Pamela Graham

The Business Events Tasmania chair is a volunteer role heading a seven member board of directors.

“I have greatly enjoyed the last six years in Tasmania and have taken every opportunity to explore what it has to offer. I believe that with its great sense of community, natural attributes and historic and charming cities that Tasmania offers a wonderful venue for conferences and business meetings,” she said.

“In my role as General Manager of Launceston Airport I consistently work with tourism agencies and related Associations to promote Tasmania as the destination of choice for a wide range of events.”

“I have been involved with the Business Events Tasmania Board as an appointed director for over twelve months and strongly believe that the industry and this organisation has a lot to offer Tasmania’s economy and tourism providers.”

“I look forward to assisting Business Events in tackling funding issues, gaining greater industry support and to promoting the development of new and viable infrastructure to address gaps in the market.”
