Guy Sebastian helps MCEC clients celebrate 2010

[Thu 18/11/2010 07:24:52]

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), with special guest Guy Sebastian, showcased the venue’s versatility at its exclusive client celebration Tuesday night (16 November).

Pop musician Guy Sebastian entertained over 600 guests at the MCEC for a special event held last week

More than 600 people flooded into the MCEC Banquet Hall, which was transformed by ID Events into four uniquely themed areas: the Opium Lounge, Sacred Asia, Egypt and the Luberon Lounge.

Guests were entertained by Guy Sebastian who provided a soulful acoustic performance, accompanied by talented violinist Sally Cooper.
Roaming the four rooms, guests dined on a range of menu options carefully selected and produced in-house to match the themed surroundings.

The MCEC’s chief executive Leigh Harry thanked its many clients and highlighted the achievements of the venue and it’s offering as a unique venue for meetings, conferences, exhibitions and events.

“Tonight has shown the flexibility of the MCEC space and how, like all events held at the venue, it can be transformed to reflect our clients’ requirements,” Harry said.

ID Events director, Peter Jack said the MCEC space offered a high level of diversity, including the largest clear span area in the country.

“The beauty of the venue is the duality of the space – you have the business style events but you also have the ability to transform the space for any type of social event from a gala dinner to cocktail reception – it’s just fantastic,” Jack said.

Over the next five years, the MCEC and Melbourne Convention & Visitors Bureau will bring together more than 70,000 delegates from around the world and inject $269 million to the Victorian economy.
