Sydney's Acer Arena wins for event catering

Sydney's Acer Arena was the major winner at the 2010 National Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence held in Melbourne at Peninsula, Docklands on Monday night (25 Oct).
Acer Arena won the prestigious awards of National Caterer of the Year and Venue Caterer of the Year. Acer Arena conducts the catering operations in-house, which is standard practice for its venue operator, AEG Ogden.
“I have just started here in the GM role and I am completely blown away with the professionalism and enthusiasm of the team," said Acer Arena's general manager Paul Sergeant. "There are many venues around the world that would give anything to have catering of this calibre. The awards are well deserved and they reinforce the standards that have been set at Acer Arena that places it amongst the top arenas in the world”.
These awards come after Acer Arena’s success at the Catering NSW Metropolitan Awards for Excellence held earlier this month, where it took home the gongs for the state titles of Caterer of the Year and Venue Caterer of the Year.
Acer Arena is owned by PBL Media and managed by venue management company AEG Ogden who also manage venues including the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, the Newcastle Entertainment Centre, and the Perth Arena (currently under construction); the Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centres, the Qatar National Convention Centre (currently under construction), Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and live theatres including Perth’s His Majesty’s Theatre and the Perth Concert Hall.
