King of Nothing launches in Sydney

[Tue 18/05/2010 01:54:25]

King of Nothing,  (KON) Australia’s latest new street wear label, launched its much anticipated Series One collection at aMBUSH Gallery in Waterloo last Thursday, (13 May) with a crowd of hundreds turning out for the event.

Featuring live performances from Paper Plane Project, DJ Butcher and Eloquence & Truths, as well as a mini skate ramp and street skating jam supported by Westsyde, the event captured the essence of the new menswear brand and its skate, surf and street influences.

An inverted Hills Hoist clothesline was used as part of the display

aMBUSH Gallery’s exhibition space was transformed, with an upside down Hills Hoist clothesline providing a centerpiece for the room and a unique way of displaying samples of King of Nothing’s clothes.

Canadian Club and Little Creatures were sponsors for the event, and artist contributors to the brand had original artworks, prints and photos on display, melding fashion with art.

Guests were entertained by DJ's and a mini skating ramp

KON’s first full collection, which follows a line of vibrant t-shirts released earlier this year, blends fashion with art to create inspired surf, skate and street wear. Up and coming artists featured in KON’s collection include Perth illustrator Prez Juan, photographer Tim Swallow and Gold Coast based designer John Kaye.

Series One extends the brand’s line to include a men’s denim range, printed crew neck jumpers, heavyweight zip hoodies, classic flannel shirts, a jewellery line and a new t-shirt collection.
