EEAA leaders forum to focus on boosting business confidence

[Thu 22/04/2010 10:31:41]

Developing individual and business confidence after the recent economic downturn will be one of the key issues addressed at this year’s annual Exhibitions and Events Association of Australasia (EEAA) Leaders Forum, 11 May in Melbourne.

Themed ‘Pressure Makes Diamonds’, the Forum will feature Anthony Mitchell, Director, Bendelta and Amnesty International Australia and guest advisor on Channel 7’s Business Builder. Mitchell will analyse distinguishing characteristics of companies that achieve progressively higher growth rates, and how these companies run their business differently.

Jackie Furey, a leading psychotherapist, will explain the need to regenerate self-confidence, courage, optimism and resilience after the economic downturn.

“Many of us sabotage our own success by deliberately setting up ‘failure loops,” said Furey. In order to encourage business growth post-GFC, Furey will advise how having the right frame of mind is necessary for driving business forward.

Ross Wright, head of Bendelta Melbourne, will facilitate discussion on the need to refocus and question the values and vision of the exhibition industry.

“Questioning our business assets and knowledge of our product and stakeholders will encourage development and help push the industry forward rather than backwards,” he said.

The EEAA Leaders Forum will take place 11 May at Crown Conference Centre in Melbourne concluding with a networking dinner for forum delegates at Gordon Ramsey’s Maze restaurant.
