New Captain Cook Cruise ship for MICE market

[Thu 01/04/2010 09:01:14]

Captain Cook Cruises small cruise ship, MV Reef Endeavour has recently replaced the MV Reef Escape in Fiji and now accommodates all 3, 4 and 7 night Fiji Islands cruises offering larger capacity and more facilities for passengers and making her the perfect choice for companies next meeting venue or incentive reward.

Captain Cook Cruises MV Reef Endevour has replaced the MV Reef Escape in Fiji to better accommodate conference and incentive groups for 3, 4 or 7 night island cruising.

Captain Cook Cruises made the decision to deploy the MV Reef Endeavour, which was previously in service on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, to Fiji to meet the growing demands of the MICE market.

“We wanted to bring the Reef Endeavour to Fiji so we could meet customer’s expectations and continue offering our popular Fiji cruise itinerary as a meeting, conference and incentive venue for larger groups,” explains Nicole Friedler, director of sales, Charters and Events.

At 73 metres in length and 3,000 tonnes the MV Reef Endeavour is a larger ship than the MV Reef Escape accommodating 150 passengers and like the Reef Escape was purposely built and originally designed to navigate shallow waters making her the ideal ship to provide the same ‘up close and intimate' cruise and cultural experience of Fiji’s Yasawa Islands.

The Reef Endeavour also offers more cruise facilities including, two spas on the sun deck, and a mini gym as well as a swimming pool, sauna, day spa, glass bottom boat, cocktail bar, dining saloon, lounge area, library, gift shop and choice of accommodation.

Reef Endeavour boasts fantastic conference facilities, featuring a reef room that can accommodate 60 delegates. Larger groups can utilize the dining room and Lizard Lounge for their meetings. Clients can expect the same facilities as a hotel conference room, but with a better view.

The ship is available for individual, group and private charter bookings making it ideal for both conference and incentive travel, or as a pre/post touring option.

Additionally, Captain Cook Cruises is combining the best of the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands by announcing that for the first time since beginning operations in Fiji, its new ship will be offering pick-ups for guests staying at Mamanuca Island resorts.

MV Reef Endeavour will moor off Honeymoon Island near Castaway Island at 1800 every Saturday night allowing Mamanuca Island resorts guests to transfer to the vessel for a 3 or 7 night Yasawa Islands cruise. Plantation, Musket Cove, Lomani Island resort, Malolo, Liku liku, Castaway and Mana Island Resort have all offered guest’s complimentary boat transfers to MV Reef Endeavour.

The new pick ups allow visitors to Fiji to experience the very best of both the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands.

“We are delighted MV Reef Endeavour’s sophisticated navigation systems and faster cruising speed have allowed us to add even more value to our Fiji cruise itinerary including a return to the Mamanuca Islands” said joint managing director Jackie Haworth.

Passengers experience all meals on board, guided village and island tours, glass bottom boat excursions, on board entertainment and use of the ship's facilities including swimming pool, spa, pool bar, sun deck, sauna, cocktail bar, day spa and library.
