Federal Tourism Minister and MEA To Recognise Industy Leaders

[Tue 16/02/2010 01:05:06]

Some 800 Industry leaders are expected to attend the annual Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) Conference and Gala Awards Dinner at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre this April.

The Conference will be opened by the Honourable Martin Ferguson in his capacity as Federal Minister for Tourism.
MEA is a national, independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to encourage and promote professionalism and excellence in all aspects of meetings and event management.

The business events industry was last valued at some $17billion to the Australian economy.

According to the Association, the awards program has this year received more submission than ever before. The awards will be presented in 27 categories honouring the association's most outstanding members for their achievements.

Previous winners have included industry heavyweights such as Great Southern E-vents, Decorative Events, Tour Hosts, Peter Jones Special Events, Solution RED  and others.
