Travel Brands Shine For Customer Service

[Tue 20/10/2009 03:28:21]

Radisson, Sofitel, Best Western, Qantas, Virgin Blue and the MCG were among the top 20 nominations in a customer service industry poll won by McDonalds recently.

Up there for service: Sofitel Hotels

McDonalds restaurants is the Australian company most admired by customer service experts for its customer service, according to ICSP which staged the recent International Customer Service Week.

Over 200 customer service managers took part in the survey conducted by FeedbackASAP and 13TEXT.

McDonalds, which headed the list of nominations, won the award after a judging panel reviewed the top 20 nominations -- AMMI, Apple, ANZ, Boost Juice, CBA, Google, iinet, MCG, McDonalds, Mercedes Benz, Qantas, Radisson Hotels, Shannons, Sofitel Hotels, Tru Energy, Virgin Blue, Volkswagen, Best Western Hotels, Woolworths.

The award was presented to McDonalds at the Customer Service Week awards dinner in Melbourne.

CEO of ICSP and Customer Service Week convenor, Tricia Olsen said that as the survey participants were customer service specialists from a wide range of industries, the peer-based nominations had some kudos.

“It was widely considered that McDonalds’ service was consistent and sustainable in the tight economy, it had successfully adapted to changing markets and had been listening to its customers,” she said.

During ICSP’s International Customer Service Week, businesses and government organisations alike were urged to recognise the importance of customer service by boosting morale, motivating staff, rewarding frontline representatives, thanking other departments for their support, and letting customers know about their commitment to customer satisfaction.
