Australian Event Awards Announce Industry Leading Judges and Media Partnership

[Thu 09/07/2009 03:20:17]

By Gwen O'Toole

With only three weeks left to enter, David Grant, Peter Jones, Glen Lehman, and Meri Took have joined the Australian Event Awards as part of the judging panel.

Special event organiser, David Grant,  will serve as the head judge for Event Manager of the Year, while special event organisers Peter Jones and Glen Lehman will serve as judges for Best Corporate Event. Meri Took of Staging Rentals will serve as head judge for Best Achievement in Design.

Ensuring fairness and transparency, the organisers of the event have prohibited judges, sponsors and the organisers from entering, a move which has been applauded by the events industry.

Spice Magazine and its online counterpart SpiceNews.com.au have also been named Official Media Partner of the Awards, sponsoring the 'Spice Best Venue Award'.

Entries for the 2009 Australian Event Awards close on July 27, giving event professionals three weeks to prepare entries. The award ceremony will take place in the Westin Sydney's ballroom on October 8 with tickets going on sale in August.
