Langham Launches 'No Strings Attached Pledge' for Groups
[Mon 18/05/2009 05:16:54]
Langham Hotels International has launched a ‘No Strings Attached Pledge’ to take out the sting for event planners organising meetings and events in today’s recessionary climate.
The pledge includes a range of special conditions and benefits that significantly reduce the risks involved in booking a venue for a business meeting and events.
It includes the waiving of cancellation fees for meetings cancelled at least 60 days in advance and 50 per cent off cancelation fees for meetings cancelled within the 60 day period; the waiving of attribution penalties normally incurred when the minimum number of hotel room numbers is not met; no minimum spend for food and beverages for groups that have at least one meal in the hotel; and free internet for all delegates staying in the hotel.

Langham Hotels International vice-president Alison Styles said the pledge was concocted in response to shrinking budgets and allegations of extravagance that are plaguing the MICE sector.
“Meeting planners around the globe have shared with us the challenges they are facing. We’ve listened and created a Pledge which helps them to continue to do business effectively,” she said.
“In this climate, it’s about sharing the risk and Langham Hotels International is offering flexibility with a human face. It’s not purely a numbers game. This partnership approach demonstrates to our partners that we are committed to a long-term business relationship.”
The pledge is valid on all bookings made at participating hotels from now until March 2010. For more information, click here.
