Sydney-based corporate event management company Event Planet has announced it intends to acquire other event managment businesses this year as part of an ongoing expansion strategy.

Event Planet managing director, Amy Merriman, said 2009 would be an exciting year for the company, which is bucking the trend of divestment gripping the global event indsutry.

“As a result of delivering a market-leading service to our expanding and diversified client base, we have experienced a number of years solid revenue growth and, combined with strategic planning, Event Planet is well placed to integrate other event management businesses into the company,” she said.

Event Planet was founded by Merriman in 2001. It specialises in corporate event design, management and production including product launches, special events, conferences, gala dinners, fashion shows, incentive programs, team-building activities and corporate hospitality.

Event Planet's client portfolio includes Vodafone, Coca Cola, Nestle, Commonwealth Bank, DHL, Sony Ericsson, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Bloomberg, Mortgage Choice, Warner Bros and Sky News.
