United Airlines Offer Lie-Flat Seats in Business Class

[Thu 19/02/2009 02:40:57]

By James Wilkinson

United Airlines has completed the upgrade of aircraft on Australian routes, with next-generation lie-flat seats now available on all trans-Pacific flights to the US.

Taking care of business in United's new business class

“The multi-million dollar investments that we are making in our international aircraft provide our customers with a more comfortable and relaxing way to fly,” said United Airlines general manager - Australia and NZ, Alison Espley.

“Australia is a pivotal part of United’s network — we are proud to have served Australian passengers for 23 years and look forward to continuing to offer them our very best, with competitive fares, an unmatched frequent flier program and a new level of both first and business class service.”

Customers in United first and United business on the newly reconfigured Boeing 747-400 aircraft can now not just enjoy greater levels of comfort with the lie-flat seats, but upgraded entertainment, with iPod connectivity and more than 150 hours of movies and television shows on-demand.

To further tempt premium travellers, food in both cabins has been designed by world-renowned Chicago chef, Charlie Trotter.
