Queensland Rugby Club Launches New Venue

[Tue 06/01/2009 12:10:40]

By Gwen O'Toole

The Queensland Rugby Club (QRC) is ready to launch a new riverside venue, The Strand at Rugby Quay, when they participate on the Brisbane stand at the Asia-Pacific Incentive & Meetings Expo (AIME) in February.

Impression of The Strand at Rugby Quay, soon to open

The $13 million development is currently underway in the Brisbane CBD and the venue offers panoramic views of the city’s Story Bridge as well as the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. The space will be best suited for up to 320 guests and dividable into two smaller venues, with a sound-proof wall separating each room.

“We’re really looking forward to being part of team Brisbane at AIME this year,” said QRC director of sales and marketing, Bill Brassington. “AIME will provide the perfect opportunity to introduce our new venue to the marketplace and there is no doubt that we can raise so much more awareness in partnership with our Brisbane industry colleagues and the convention bureau.”

The Rugby Quay complex is expected to be open for operations in mid-2009.
