Air Asia X has announced its long-awaited Kuala Lumpur-London flights, with airfares starting from $260 one-way including all taxes and charges.
Air Asia X has announced London flights
By adding on Australian sectors, prices start from: Perth-London for $453; Gold Coast-London for $552; and Melbourne-London for $563.
“The London-Kuala Lumpur route is the realisation of a long-held ambition to open up affordable access between Malaysia and Europe for both the ASEAN and European communities,” said Air Asia Group CEO, Tony Fernandes.
London flights will commence on March 11, 2009, and fly to Stansted Airport using an Airbus A340-300 aircraft, which will be configured to carry 286 passengers, including 30 XL class premium seats.
Tuesday’s announcement of Australia-UK airfares for $906 return follows a pledge from Fernandes in early 2007 that flights would start below $1000 when they were eventually launched.
“This new route will benefit all of ASEAN as it will encourage more economic and tourism activities, bringing in more revenue and creating job opportunities,” he said.
