Leading online travel agency Webjet has replaced its outsourced email service provider with an in-house solution to enable superior data security and make its services more attractive to new business.

Webjet has appointed US software provider Strongmail Systems to supply an email solution that eliminates the need to have customer data reside outside its network, bolstering both deliverability and security.

“In the travel business, customer service is paramount, and StrongMail’s in-house approach reduces risks to customer data while providing the real-time integration required to deliver relevant messages that are expected and valued,” said StrongMail Systems executive vice-president of business operations, Bill Wagner.

Added Webjet CEO, Richard Noon: “Webjet continues to attract new customers, and StrongMail gives us the scalability to accommodate that growth and the advanced features required to take control of our email deliverability and send more targeted messages based on customer preferences and past purchases.”

Webjet offers access to all major airlines, car rental companies and more than 50,000 hotels worldwide. In addition to event-triggered transactional emails confirming travel purchases and information requests, it also relies on email to communicate new promotions and services.

Webjet’s customer base continues to expand at a rapid rate.
